Vase/Palace Jar (one of a pair)

This enormous vase and its mate have been in Hampton’s Great Hall since at least 1867 when they are listed in John Ridgely’s estate inventory. They can also be seen in the earliest interior photograph of Hampton, a stereopticon view of the hall taken in 1872.
